Bolling Hall
Margaret McMillan had the pleasure of visiting Bolling Hall on Wednesday 27th June 2018. Bolling Hall was the impressive home of two important land-owning families. Children were thrilled to wander around the old house, which dates back to medieval times.
During their workshops, children spent time exploring Bradford’s heritage. They listened to two Bradford legends: the Bradford Boar and the Ghost, before having a go at creating their own flash fiction. The children then enjoyed playing in the surrounding gardens during lunch time in the lovely, hot weather.
Pupils used the historic rooms to explore what houses were like in the past. They learnt about life during the time of the Great Fire of London and in the afternoon they created their own collaborative scenes of the Great Fire.
